Abstract

The increase in the number of dwellings has caused community activities to also increase but not
always with safety concerns and protection from disaster threats, including fires. Gorontalo City can be
categorized as an area with a high level of population density so that it is not free from the potential for
fire. Increased understanding of fire safety needs to be instilled from an early age, especially in elementary
school students. Public service activities are carried out at State Elementary School 29, South Kota,
Gorontalo City where the school is one of the schools located in a densely populated settlement. This
activity aims to educate students about fire management so that they can be prepared and rescue in the
event of an unpredicted fire. This service activity, which was attended by 30 students, was carried out using
power point media and animated videos with the target activities for students in grades IV, V, and VI.
Based on the evaluation results after being given educational material, students' understanding is quite
good, it can be seen from most students correctly answering the questions given.. It can be concluded that
students understand the fire disaster preparedness education materials that have been provided.
