Pelatihan Kesiapsiagaan pada Anak Tersedak (Choking) di Desa Selat Kecamatan Abiansemal Badung Bali
Abstract
Choking is a condition of obstruction or obstruction of respiration by a narrowed foreign body in
the internal airway, including the pharynx, hypopharynx, and trachea. Airway narrowing can be fatal if
it leads to serious disruption of oxygenation and ventilation. Therefore, to minimize the occurrence of
victims due to children experiencing choking due to late assistance, it is necessary to prepare mothers
who have toddler-aged children and cadres of posyandu toddlers in providing first aid to children. Selat
Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency is one of the villages located in the north of Badung
Regency where in Selat Village there has never been preparedness training for choking children for
mothers who have children of toddler age and for Posyandu Toddler Cadres. So far, what mothers do if their children experience choking is to pat their back and chest and give their children a drink of water.
Therefore, the solution offered in this service program is to carry out preparedness training for choking
children. This activity provides direct information and simulations on how to handle child choking. Based
on the results obtained, there was an increase in the knowledge of posyandu cadres of toddlers before
being given training with after being given training as seen from the pre-test and post-test scores. It can
be concluded that training activities for handling children with choking are effectively carried out to
increase knowledge and train the skills of cadres of posyadu toddlers in dealing with children who choke.
