Assessing the defecation pattern in children is by assessing the frequency of defecation, consistency of defecation, and color of stool. Handling and prevention of childhood diseases can be done with pharmacological or non-pharmacological therapy. Massage therapy is part of non-pharmacological therapy that has been known to the public since ancient times, before the existence of drugs. Several studies that have been conducted previously have shown that there are many positive effects of massage, namely increasing the immune system, relaxing the child's body, overcoming sleep difficulties, improving the growth and development process, preventing digestive disorders, facilitating bowel movements, improving the work of the respiratory system, digestion and blood circulation. In cases of constipation, massage therapy can speed up colonic transit time so that it can increase the frequency of bowel movements. Dauh Puri Kaja Village has a heterogeneous community, both in terms of community, knowledge, social and economic conditions which give rise to various problems. Based on the results of the preliminary study, it was found that several problems were faced by partners, namely: the lack of participation of cadres in conducting baby classes, especially baby massage, and the lack of knowledge of cadres about baby massage and the benefits of baby massage. The activities carried out included: (a) Socialization: Conducting socialization on Community Service activities to cadres in Dauh Puri Kaja Village; and (b) Meeting: Providing baby massage counseling to cadres in Dauh Puri Kaja Village. Community service activities in the form of baby massage counseling for cadres in Dauh Puri Kaja Village were carried out well and ran smoothly in accordance with the activity plans that had been prepared. Participants totaled 24 mothers of babies. All participants enthusiastically listened to the material presented. This activity received a very good response as seen by the activeness of the participants asking further about the material provided. It is hoped that health workers, especially midwives will socialize more about baby massage to cadres, and conduct routine training or classes related to baby massage. Health cadres have a strategic role in promotive efforts in the community, so increasing knowledge and skills is needed as a provision in assisting pregnant women. This community service aims to improve the knowledge and skills of health cadres in monitoring the health of pregnant women in Kenteng village. The activity was held in January 2025, attended by 33 cadres at the Kenteng village hall, Nogosari sub-district. Materials and methods used include poster media, pregnant women's health examination modules, as well as measuring tools for nutritional status and mental screening of pregnant women. The materials were delivered using lecture, demonstration, and interactive discussion methods. The results of the activity showed that most cadres had increased knowledge about examining the nutritional status and psychological health of pregnant women, 61% of which were categorized as good knowledge. This shows that the number of high-risk cases reported by cadres is still low because cadres have not been trained in early detection of high-risk pregnant women. Seeing the potential and conditions in 3 villages in Nogosari District (Keyongan, Potronayan and Kenteng), it is necessary to develop a program that aims to improve the knowledge and skills of health cadres in early detection of high-risk pregnant women, namely the Cadre Refreshing Program on early detection of high-risk pregnant women. Furthermore, it is hoped that cadres will be able to report and accompany pregnant women until the delivery process and mothers, babies are healthy and safe. A total of 60 health cadres from 3 villages participated in the training activities, all of whom filled out the pretest and posttest questionnaires. The average pretest score related to knowledge of high-risk pregnancy & childbirth was 58 and increased to 92 in the posttest. Meanwhile, related to knowledge about childbirth preparation, the average pretest score was 72 and increased to 98 in the posttest. Through refreshing activities for cadre training in early detection of high-risk pregnancy and childbirth, it effectively increased cadre knowledge both in identifying high-risk cases and in preparing for safe childbirth. One of the key populations that is vulnerable to HIV AIDS transmission is female sex workers (FSWs). WHO recommends Pre-Exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as an additional prevention option for people who are at high risk of HIV infection but are still HIV negative. The localization located on Jalan Kusuma Bangsa, mostly has female sex workers (FSWs) from Java and Lombok with a total of around 50 FWs. Based on interviews by the community service team with Cempaka Group cadres, information was obtained that the partners' knowledge regarding HIV AIDS prevention was minimal. In addition, there is still a lack of knowledge from partners about the HIV AIDS prevention program through the PrEP program. Overall, this community service program has shown that with the right approach and ongoing support, HIV AIDS prevention efforts through women's empowerment through the PrEP program can have a significant positive impact on the localization on Jalan Kusuma Bangsa, Denpasar City. This program indicates that empowerment through education and access to PrEP has great potential in reducing the rate of HIV transmission among FWs. Increasing knowledge and willingness to use PrEP is a crucial first step. However, the sustainability of the program is highly dependent on cross-sector commitment from local governments, health facilities, civil society organizations, and the PSP community itself. The recommendation that can be given by the service team is to integrate the PrEP program into broader reproductive health services in other localizations.
2025-06-30T01:40:08+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Luh Gede Pradnyawati, Dewa Ayu Putu Ratna Juwita, Made Indra Wijaya https://ejournal.pkkb.ac.id/index.php/pkm/article/view/359Pendampingan Pencegahan Terjadinya Anemia dengan Penyuluhan Pemanfaatan Penggunaan Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) It is defined as a condition in which a child's height-for-age is more than two standard deviations below the WHO Child Growth Standards median. One contributing factor to the high prevalence of stunting is inadequate parenting practices, especially in terms of nutrition, child development stimulation, and clean and healthy living behaviors. This community service activity aimed to improve parents' knowledge and understanding of effective parenting as a preventive measure against stunting. Stunting in early life, particularly during the first 1,000 days from conception to the age of two has adverse functional consequences, as linear growth in early childhood is a strong indicator of healthy development. This is due to its association with increased risk of illness and mortality, non-communicable diseases later in life, as well as reduced learning capacity and productivity. This community service program applied a persuasive and educational approach through health education sessions on parenting as a preventive measure against stunting, using leaflets as the medium. The average knowledge score of participants before receiving the health education was 93.64, and after the intervention, the score increased to 100. Klaten District is among the areas with significant cases of KEK, with a prevalence of around 15.8% (Klaten Health Office, 2022). The risk factors for the occurrence of KEK in pregnant women are economic factors (Poverty inhibits access to nutritious food), Low Nutrition Knowledge (Lack of understanding of nutritional needs during pregnancy), Limited Health Access (distance to health facilities or lack of health workers), Unbalanced diet (low consumption of protein, iron and calories), Chronic health conditions (Parasitic infections, anemia or other comorbidities), and teenage pregnancy (Young mothers < 20 years old tend to be biologically and nutritionally unprepared). Low Public Awareness Many pregnant women and couples of childbearing age (PUS) do not understand the importance of LILA examination and balanced nutrition, the long-term impact of KEK contributes to stunting and maternal / perinatal mortality, Preventive Interventions: Counseling aims to improve early detection through LILA measurement and nutrition counseling, Government Program Support In line with the Healthy Indonesia Program and Stunting Reduction interventions at the village level. The targets of the counseling were pregnant women and PUS in Manisrenggo area, posyandu cadres and families for continuous assistance. Counseling materials presented about KEK, the importance of nutrition during pregnancy, how to measure LILA independently, utilization of nutritious local foods (for example: tempeh, beans, green vegetables). Health education is effective to improve pregnant women's knowledge about KEK
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Bima Suryantara, Yunri Merida, Sandy Wigya, Wahyuningsih, Nursifa, Ratna Nurindah Sari, Nursriwatiningsih, Mita Herawati, Tina Zurni, Devita, Susan Susanti
