Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This disease usually attacks the respiratory organs, especially the lungs and can be transmitted to other organs. The aim of this research is to find out what factors influence the incidence of tuberculosis in the working area of the Jonggol Community Health Center. The number of samples was 134 for cases and 134 for controls. The method used in this research is case control. Determining respondents using probability sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaire sheets, literature studies with several supporting references. The data analysis technique used is the chi square test. The results of the bivariate test show that variables related to the incidence of Tuberculosis are smoking behavior (pvalue=0.000), knowledge (pvalue=0.005), residential density (pvalue=0.000), and ventilation (pvalue=0.009). Based on the results of this research, it is hoped that the Jonggol Community Health Center can be more active in providing more information to sufferers about the risk of contracting tuberculosis and inviting the public to play a role in preventing the transmission of tuberculosis.
