Abstract

Ship hygiene and sanitation are important in disease prevention efforts. Ship's crew (ABK) does not know much about the hygiene and sanitation of this ship. This study aims to determine the description of the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of crew members about ship sanitation hygiene at the Port. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research design, a sample of 70 crew members at Harbour Bay Port. The results showed the measurement of the level of knowledge of respondents about the application of ship sanitation hygiene in the good category as many as 36 respondents (51.4%), had sufficient knowledge as many as 33 respondents (47.2%) and had less knowledge as many as 1 respondent (1.4%). Respondents had a positive attitude as many as 53 respondents (75.7%), had a negative attitude as many as 17 respondents (24.3%). All respondents (100%) had good actions about ship sanitation hygiene. It is recommended that crew members can seek more information about ship sanitation hygiene through existing information sources such as the internet or social media so that crew members' knowledge can increase.
