Abstract

Acute diarrhea is a common health issue that can have fatal consequences if not properly managed. This study aims to identify the knowledge level of the community regarding self-medication for acute diarrhea and its relationship with demographic factors. The method used is a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design, where data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 97 respondents in Banjar Robokan. Data analysis was performed using Chi-Square statistical tests to determine the relationship between variables. The results indicate that 55.67% of respondents have a good level of knowledge, while 44.33% have sufficient knowledge. No respondents fell into the poor knowledge category. A significant relationship was found between knowledge and gender, but no relationship was identified between knowledge and the factors of occupation, age, or education. The conclusion of this study is that the knowledge level of the community regarding self-medication for acute diarrhea in Banjar Robokan is reasonably good; however, there is still a need for enhanced understanding through health education programs. This research provides important insights for the development of health policies in the community, particularly concerning diarrhea
