Gambaran Pengetahuan Ibu Tentang Baby Gym Untuk Pemberian Edukasi Perkembangan Anak Usia 1-5 Tahun

Infancy is a golden and critical period of development. The prevalence of developmental delays among infants in Indonesia remains high, one of which is caused by a lack of early stimulation from parents. Baby gym has been proven to be effective in improving infants’ gross motor development. This study aimed to describe mothers’ knowledge of baby gym as a form of gross motor development stimulation for children aged 1–5 years at TPMB Wahidah, S.ST in 2025. The method used in this study was a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted over a one-month period, in May 2025. The population consisted of mothers who had children aged 1–5 years. A total of 30 mothers with children aged 1–5 years were selected as samples using purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using univariate analysis. The results showed that most mothers were aged 20–35 years, had secondary education, worked as housewives, and were primiparous. In addition, the majority of mothers had a moderate level of knowledge regarding baby gym. Mothers’ knowledge levels were influenced by age, education, occupation, and parity. Mothers aged 20–35 years, with secondary education, housewives, and multiparous mothers tended to have better knowledge. This study recommends the need for continuous education to improve mothers’ and families’ knowledge about the importance of baby gym in supporting child growth and development, as well as providing easily understandable informational media.
