ABSTRACT
During infancy, a child undergoes a critical phase that significantly influences their development. Often referred to as the "golden period," this stage is essential in shaping a person's character. It is termed a critical period because, during this time, the baby is highly responsive to its environment, and it is called the golden period due to the rapid and irreversible nature of development in infancy. According to screening tests conducted by the Indonesian Ministry of Health across 30 provinces, 45.12% of infants were found to have developmental delays, primarily caused by insufficient stimulation. This study aims to determine the relationship between providing stimulation and the development of infants aged 6-12 months. The research design is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The study population were babies aged 6-12 months in the working area of Gamping 1 Health Centre in Yogyakarta, with a quota sampling technique used to select 120 respondents. The research instruments included a questionnaire for stimulation variables and the KPSP (Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan) for assessing infant development variables. Bivariate data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most mothers provided good stimulation (93.3%), and 84.2% of infants aged 6-12 months exhibited normal development. A significant relationship was found between providing stimulation and infant development, with a p-value of 0.000. In conclusion, there is a strong relationship between providing stimulation and the development of infants aged 6-12 months in the working area of Gamping 1 Health Centre in Yogyakarta
