The EFFECT OF AUDIOVISUAL HEALTH PROMOTION TO THE ENHANCE OF MOTHER KNOWLEDGE ABOUT STUNTING IN GADUNGAN VILLAGE, TABANAN, BALI

Stunting is not only a problem of height but also about a child’s low ability to learn, mental retardation and the emergence of chronic diseases. Stunting is a problem of chronic malnutrion in toddlers which is characterized by delayed growth. Quantitative research design, pre experimental research design, using design of one group pretest-posttest which is combined with one shot case study. This study only used one group sample, consists of 97 respondents, without any comparison groups. Observations were carried out twice, before and after the intervention. Pre experimental was used to examine the increase in mother’s knowledge about the incidence of stunting based on undertsanding, symptoms, prevention and treatment of stunting. The intervention was carried out once, by providing audiovisual impressions then continued by doing the post test. The data analysis used was Bivariat analysis with the wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, there were differences in the effect of applying audiovisual methods on increasing mother’s knowledge about stunting at the Gadungan Village Tabanan Bali with value 0,00 (p<0,05) there is an effective increase in the mother’s knowledge about stunting because one can receive messages quickly and easily remembered it can be received well, it’s more interesting and not watched because the mother can hear and see so the mother is very enthusiastic about the content of the material in the video . Health education using audiovisuals has a 71,4 % influence on mother’s knowledge about stunting, while 28,6 % influenced by other factors not studied.
