Cadre Empowerment in Stunting Prevention in Bayung Gede Village to Make Kintamani District Child Friendly
Abstract
Stunting or shortness of breath is one of the nutritional problems that still occurs in Indonesia apart from the problem of undernutrition (underweight) and the problem of overnutrition (overweight/obesity). Stunting has quite a broad impact in the economic and social fields in society. Stunting causes disruption to children's brain development and intelligence. Based on Bangli Regent's Decree Number 444/894/2022, there are 203 stunted toddlers out of 1,407 toddlers in 18 stunting locus villages in Kinatamani District, Bangli Regency. Based on interviews by the service team with cadres in Bayung Gede Village, information was obtained that posyandu activities in the village had not been carried out effectively. There is a need to strengthen the function of posyandu optimally. Apart from that, there is a lack of understanding from cadres about preventing stunting in toddlers and also the role of the first 1000 days of life. Lack of family understanding to utilize the potential of local food in preventing stunting. From the problems faced, the solution that can be offered is a knowledge transfer program in strengthening the function of posyandu optimally and revitalizing posyandu in Bayung Gede Village and also the importance of the first 1000 years of life for pregnant women , breastfeeding mothers, babies 0-6 months, 6-12 months and children 12-24 months. Providing training to cadres in utilizing the potential of local food in preventing stunting. The knowledge transfer program activities ran smoothly, there was an increase in knowledge about stunting prevention. Training for cadres in utilizing the potential of local food in preventing stunting was also well carried out and the skills possessed by cadres were increased.
