Abstract

Currently, many pregnant women choose Caesarean Section (CS) not because they experience complications but because they are afraid and anxious about normal delivery, the shorter time for CS and aesthetic reasons. Several factors that influence the high incidence of CS deliveries include maternal factors, fetal factors, sesiodemographic factors, health insurance factors, and health facility factors. Factors that cause the high incidence of CS in primigravida mothers are (1) fear of the birth of the baby as concerned and trying to escape with intolerable and difficult conditions for the mother and baby; (2) related to complications after the end of birth; and (3) women's trust in doctors, and (4) women do not trust the staff who handle labor and the birth process of babies. Prenatal yoga can be done for pregnant women to reduce fear and anxiety during normal childbirth and can prevent complications in pregnant women and women giving birth. The method of implementing the activity is by providing counseling to 10 pregnant women about prenatal yoga to prevent SC delivery, measuring knowledge by administering pretest and posttest questionnaires. 6 people (60%) had good knowledge. It is important to provide education to pregnant women about prenatal yoga so that pregnant women can carry out prenatal yoga regularly to prevent CS.
