Pendampingan Pencegahan Terjadinya Anemia dengan Penyuluhan Pemanfaatan Penggunaan Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) Pada Remaja

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where hemoglobin and erythrocyte levels fall below the normal range. The World
Health Organization (WHO) defines it as a condition where hemoglobin in the blood is less than normal due to a deficiency of one or more nutrients that are essential for the body, regardless of the cause of the deficiency. The prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls in East Java is 42%. Cases of anemia in adolescent girls in Malang City show that the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls is 59.04%. Efforts to prevent and overcomeanemia through the Anemia Prevention Assistance program with Counseling on the Utilization of Moringa Leaves (Moringa oleifera L.) in Adolescents are carried out to prevent an increase in the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls. Participants in this activity were 30 female students, both those with and without anemia. The material presented in this activity is related to the causes of anemia, prevention and treatment efforts, and the use of moringa leaves as a material that is easily obtained in the community that can be used for the process of increasing iron in anemia. The activity was carried out for 1 full day. Measurement of the success of the activity and the achievement of the material is by conducting a pre-test and post-test. After the counseling material was provided, there was an increase in knowledge related to the counseling activity mentoring participants in efforts to prevent anemia by utilizing Moringa leaves.
