Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is giving breast milk to babies without complementary foods and drinks (including orange juice, honey, sugar water) starting from the time the baby is born until the age of 6 months. Breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is still very low, based on the 2020 Riskesdas, the percentage of exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 0 months (39.8%), 1 month (32.5%), 2 months (30.7%), 3 months (25, 2%), 4 months (26.3%) and 5 months (15.3%). Based on where they live, exclusive breastfeeding is 25.2% in urban areas and 29.3% in rural areas. One of the reasons is due to the condition of mothers who are actively working, efforts to provide exclusive breastfeeding are experiencing obstacles. Objective : Knowing the relationship between work and the success of providing exclusive breastfeeding to breastfeeding mothers at the Pekauman Community Health Center. Method: Quantitative approach with non-experimental research methods. Result: The rate of providing exclusive breastfeeding to breastfeeding mothers in the Pekauman Community Health Center working area is 57 people (67.9%) out of 84 breastfeeding mothers and the number of working mothers providing exclusive breastfeeding in the Pekauman Community Health Center working area is 4 people (4.8%) out of 24 mothers who work in the Pekauman Community Health Center working area with a P value of 0.00, which means there is a relationship between work and the success of exclusive breastfeeding.
